LET’S HELP KORNELIA SEE THE WORLD
Kornelia Zielonka is 7 years old. She suffers from optic nerve hypoplasia, a congenital defect consisting in atrophy of the optic nerves, muscle tension and slight left-sided paresis. In addition, she struggles with nystagmus and alternating strabismus.
Every day, Kornelia undergoes rehabilitation both in terms of ophthalmology and neurology (due to muscle tension). Eye disease is a serious barrier to her proper functioning and development. This is manifested e.g. in that she is visually impaired, has problems recognizing objects, people (this even applies to recognizing parents), finding her way, moving around, or eating meals.
Her vision potential is commonly rated by doctors at 1 on a scale of 0 to 10.
Kornelia has a mother, Magdalena, a father, Andrzej, and a younger brother, Alan. Despite her illness, she is a cheerful child, she likes playing with dolls the most, which she willingly takes care of, dresses them up, combs, carries in a pram and hugs.
We are gathering funds for the treatment of Kornelia supporting her eyesight . Kornelia needs to be brought to Wrocław every day after kindergarten for Biofeedback therapy, which supports the work of the eyesight with the brain. In order for her to cope at school, she must attend classes regularly, but unfortunately everything is expensive, so we are asking for your support.
