You cannot be prepared for what happened to us. This is the biggest pain which can tear the heart apart and there are no words to describe it. You can be a strong person but you will not be able to stop tears…
I remember every moment with my son like yesterday: I was with him when he was born, I was next to his bed while he slept, I cuddled him when he cried. I taught him his first steps. I was always close to protect him. Now I feel utter helplessness and distress as only a father can feel about his son. I know his life can be extinguished forever… I know that my child has got cancer…
Pawelek was always a healthy, happy and adventurous child.
He couldn’t sit in the same place for any period time. He was never ill, never took any medicine. We were so happy to have a healthy child.
When he went to school, he gradually became calm and quiet. We were thinking that he is growing and getting more serious. Unfortunately these were first symptoms of his illness – a brain tumour. He started his football training when he was three years old. He loved to play football, to swim and to run. We often went to sport venues. In December 2015 he took second place in a children’s run. He won a medal and prizes. He was very proud of it. He was healthy and happy…
Now he needs help to run again and follow his dreams. Everything he loved was taken by cancer. He had to resign from doing everything he loved. Despite this he is not giving up and he is fighting his illness. So far he has had two operations. He still experience side effects like double vision.
The tumour was removed, but only partially. We discovered that the tumour had started to grow again… Our nightmare and fight for his life became even harder… Medi
cal science noted only several cases like this. Therefore there are no oncological procedures – and he doesn’t qualify for chemotherapy.
In our desperation we have found a hope for our boy. A leading neurosurgeon – Professor Schumann from a clinic in Tubingen is giving us a chance to remove the tumour definitively and lead to a full recovery for Pawelek.
Unfortunately we cannot cope with everything and we need your help. The cost of the operation in Germany is high and we have very little of time. The operation must happen within next few weeks. The tumour is growing and it wants to take our son from us… We are begging you for help. To be honest his life is in your hands…
